An example of an estimate for a fence made of corrugated sheets. Estimate for installing a fence made of corrugated sheets: materials and list of works

Many customers mistakenly believe that drawing up an estimate is required only when constructing a serious construction project. In fact, it is also necessary to draw up an estimate for the installation of the fence. At the same time, this issue should also be approached with full responsibility. It will be easy to calculate the installation of this structure only at first glance. in fact, these miscalculations have a lot of nuances and features that should be paid attention to.

Key Features

An estimate for fence installation is an important point before starting work. Only after the estimate has been approved by the customer, the contractor can proceed directly to work.

The estimate usually takes into account absolutely all cost items, including, if necessary, the cost of dismantling the previous fence.

Any estimate can be drawn up in any order. There are no strict forms or requirements here. The most important thing is the presence of all required points and calculations.

As a general rule, the estimate is prepared in printed form in a table. If necessary, it is possible to add footnotes and some explanations at the bottom of the page. After this, the numbered pages of the estimate are printed and stapled. In the future, for reporting purposes, all specified information in the estimate will be confirmed by the receipts provided and concluded contracts for the provision of services or performance of work.

For any object, it is possible to draw up a general estimate for the entire construction or separate separate summaries for each stage. Both options are valid. If we talk specifically about the installation of a fence, it is recommended to include it in a separate estimate, even if this is a stage of a large building construction.

Nuance! If a subcontractor is involved, he submits an estimate to the contractor for approval. This has nothing to do with the estimate specified by the customer. The customer approves only the final estimate, taking into account the services of the subcontractor.

What's included in the estimate

When drawing up an estimate for installing a fence, you should take into account the main cost items that are typical for absolutely any construction project. The main expense items that will need to be included in this financial document include:

  • Equipment rental. Sometimes, when installing large structures, special equipment may be required, which is not available to every construction company, so it will need to be rented. Most often these will be the vehicles that deliver and install large blocks. All other equipment (welding machines, hammer drills) is usually available from the builders themselves.
  • Hiring workers if additional specialists are required who are not on the company’s staff. The estimate must indicate the number of workers, their expected payment and the duration of work on the object. Typically, such specialists are paid based on hours or shifts worked. If they cooperate on an ongoing basis with the contractor, then they can enter into an employment agreement with him, but this is not reflected in the estimate, since all this is included in the list of services provided by the construction company.
  • Purchase of necessary materials. The estimate indicates prices current at the time of its preparation. Next, it is preferable to immediately purchase everything you need. If this cannot be done, then you need to be prepared for inflationary costs or price dynamics against the background of changes in exchange rates. Usually the price can change by a maximum of 10-15%. The price is stated taking into account the client’s wishes regarding the materials used, as they may differ in quality and price.

Sometimes it is customary to allocate cleaning of the territory as a separate expense item. But this is not always logical for the reason that almost any of the actions taken for this purpose can be included in other sub-items of the estimate (involvement of equipment, workers, vehicles for transportation). This point also sometimes includes dismantling the previous structure. This can be done at the discretion of the financial analyst. The peculiarity of the scheme is that it is quite possible to divide it into sections and categories at your own discretion - this will not be a mistake. The main thing is to avoid any shortcomings and errors in calculations.

Different variants

Sometimes the customer may be offered several estimates for approval at the same time. The reason is that costs will vary significantly depending on how high-quality and powerful materials are used for installation.

The cost and scope of work may also be affected. For example, work can be completed faster if more workers and equipment are involved. But the price of such installation will be higher.

Usually, all these nuances are previously discussed with the customer, wishes are clarified, but if it is difficult to make a final decision, then it would be advisable to draw up several cost estimates at once so that you can clearly evaluate the advantages and the difference in price when receiving them.

What to pay attention to

When drawing up any estimate, including for the installation of a fence, you should take into account some additional features that are paid attention to when checking the estimate. This is where regulatory authorities and experts stop, and therefore an accountant should also pay attention to this fact. When checking yourself, you need to pay attention to:

  • adequacy of the declared quantity of necessary machinery, equipment, and workers. This takes into account labor productivity and the necessary work done;
  • compliance of the cost of materials with current market prices, as well as the declared volume of purchases for the facility itself;
  • the correctness of calculations, as well as the application of calculated coefficients.

In addition to all this, one should also take into account the fact that quite stringent requirements are imposed on such documents at the legislative level. We are talking about the execution of documents and their form. If you make any inaccuracies in the execution of the forms itself, then there is a risk that you will also receive a fine in the future. Therefore, attention should be paid to compliance with legal requirements first of all.

Features of some types

The general model for calculating the costs of installing a fence will always be generally the same. However, sometimes costs may differ slightly depending on what type of fence you decide to install. The main types, for which the estimate will have their own nuances, include the following fences:

  • Brick. For such a pick-up, there is no need to use any equipment other than delivery vehicles. The main expense items here will be the purchase of materials (brick, mortar, cement), as well as payment of hired workers. To install such a fence, additional tools may be required (shovels for trenches, containers for mortar), but usually the construction company already has all this, so there is no need to indicate it in the estimate.
  • Wood. Installing a wooden fence requires a minimum of resources. In the estimate, it will be enough to simply indicate the purchase of the necessary materials, as well as the payment of workers. When drawing up an accurate estimate, you can also take into account the purchase of nails and other small parts. The cost of paint is also often taken into account, since usually wooden fences are preferred to be coated with paint to increase their service life. If a fence is made from a picket fence, then the costs will only be for the purchase of materials, since usually they prefer to install such a fence on their own.
  • From chain-link mesh. The most popular type of fence due to its low cost and comparative strength. The estimate here should include the costs of paying for the work, purchasing the mesh itself, as well as installing the base posts (purchase of the posts themselves and cement to strengthen them in the ground). The main expense item here is the purchase of the mesh itself. Its cost can vary significantly depending on the thickness of the rods.
  • Metal. Any metal fence (welded, made of sheets, with small cells) implies a standard accounting of all costs in the cost estimate. In addition to the costs of paying workers, as well as the purchase of materials, it is necessary to additionally take into account the cost of hiring equipment. The welding machine, as well as specialists in this field, are usually paid hourly. Also in the estimate you will need to include the purchase of paint and the cost of installing the main pillars (their cement fixation in the ground).
  • From a professional sheet. A reliable and strong fence that requires quite a lot of money, but is also reliable. You can read more about corrugated board fences.

Each of these types is calculated in the estimate according to the general rule, but taking into account additional individual nuances.

Dismantling

Separately, it is worth dwelling on the dismantling of the fence. The reason is that such calculations are always given separately from the total estimate, even if dismantling simply takes place before the construction of a new fence.

There are no particular difficulties in drawing up such estimates, but you should nevertheless pay attention to some features.

To dismantle the old fence, you do not need to purchase any materials. Here you will only need to take into account the payment of attracted specialists, as well as the rental of equipment. Typically, many construction companies do not have free access to their own equipment, which is required for dismantling. For this reason, it has to be rented.

In some cases, if the fence is not too large and is not made of heavy materials, then it will be quite possible to handle it on your own. Then any additional costs will not be indicated in the estimate, since the provision of such services is included in the list of services of the construction company.

If it is necessary to attract additional resources for dismantling, then usually the cost of attracting workers or special equipment must be included in the estimate. Payment for such services is calculated on a daily or even hourly basis.

It will also be necessary to take into account the costs of transporting the remains of the fence. Sometimes transporting waste and cleaning the area can be carried out by the owner of the site or a construction company. If this is not possible, then you will need to rent a separate vehicle for transporting waste (often an hourly fee).

Often, installation and dismantling of a fence are included in one estimate, but at the request of the customer or for the convenience of the contractor, they can be separated. This will also be required if similar work is performed by two different companies.

Before you invest in fence construction, be sure to learn the basics so that you can buy a fence that suits your home and property.

Before you begin choosing a fence style, we would recommend researching the restrictions that may apply to your property, city, or county. It is the responsibility of the home owner to obtain permission from the local administration. What fence heights are acceptable in your area? What style, color and quality of fence would be acceptable? Are there any nuisances, tree roots, wetlands or other issues that you should be aware of before construction begins?

Obtain a copy of the detailed report/site plan. You will need papers to clarify that the fence on screw piles is located only on your land. If a copy of the report is not available, as the homeowner you will be required to sign an acknowledgment accepting responsibility for locating the fence. A common thing is to install a European picket fence 10-15 centimeters from the site line.

Is the proposed fence line clear? Are there bushes, trees, or roots that need to be worked around? The ideal working area is about 90 centimeters of free space in all directions.

What about communications? Some fence manufacturers, likeZSK-1, take on the search for utility lines and obtaining all necessary permits. Manufacturers and large companies have the advantage of having equipment, such as a locator, that is brought to the home to mark power lines, cable TV lines, telephone lines and gas lines. On the other hand, this locator will not be able to locate water lines, sewer lines, and lines that you may have installed on your own. Such lines include the gas line for the pool heater or the electric line for the pool and water pump. Please make sure you know where the extra lines are installed and provide all necessary information to the contractor prior to installation. Most companies are not responsible for damage to secondary and user communications lines.

Guarantee: make sure that the corrugated fence will last you until the next generation. Know your fence manufacturer and their warranties. Please review the terms and conditions of the warranty carefully, including registration, exclusions (events not covered by the warranty), and how to file claims. You must know the manufacturer and the products you are buying. Please understand that just because metal fencing comes with a warranty, you should not assume that you are actually insured. The best guarantee is always the one you never have to use. Try to choose a fence manufacturer that offers a long warranty and at least 10 years of experience in the market. Research the suppliers of the main material, some of them impose their own guarantee on the product. Typically, concrete fence manufacturers are so confident in their products that they offer very long warranty periods.

How to buy a fence

Any fence, regardless of its cost and quality, can increase or decrease the attractiveness of a summer cottage. Consider the style of the house and pay attention to architectural details that will help you choose the right fence for your dacha. If you are having difficulty, seek help from a contractor or supplier, who should offer the services of their designers. A suitable fence will not only decorate a country house, but will highlight your lifestyle and much more.Whether it is a solid fence made of wood, a metal fence made of chain-link mesh, or corrugated sheeting, the chosen manufacturer will probably offer enough options to choose from. Take your time and do everything right.

When you decide to purchase a fence, you can have peace of mind if you work with an experienced fence manufacturer who will offer you several payment options to choose from. Building a suitable fence is only the first step in transforming your dacha and home. With so much choice on offer in today's construction market, making a decision can be difficult. If you have questions, try contacting and consulting with the manufacturer of fences since 2001 - the ZSK-1 company.

As part of these recommendations, we post sample estimates for the construction of fences of popular sizes. The prices in the fence estimate are for the entire turnkey work package. You can easily find the cost of fencing, construction and delivery services, as well as prices for consumables. I repeat once again - the prices in the estimate are real and valid until August 1, 2013.

Good luck when choosing a fence and a contractor.

Any construction requires a preliminary calculation of the quantity and cost of building materials. Fences made of corrugated sheets, so popular today both in modest summer cottages and in elite cottage communities, are no exception to this general rule.

For everyone who wants to build a fence from corrugated sheets cheaply, without losing in its quality, we offer this article dedicated to the main rules for drawing up estimates for the construction of fences from corrugated sheets.

Why do you need to make an estimate?

A correctly drawn up estimate is a guarantee of peace of mind for the customer and his confidence that the contractor will fulfill his obligations in good faith and in full accordance with the contract. But even if you decide to build a fence from corrugated sheets yourself, an estimate is still necessary, because its main purpose is to reduce unforeseen costs, which almost inevitably arise during any construction, to a minimum. If we do not take into account the optimization of financial costs, then the estimate allows you to save an even more important human resource - his time, because with its help you can plan the timing of the fence assembly more accurately.

With the help of a well-drawn estimate for a fence made of corrugated sheets, the customer can find out:

  • What is the total cost of the upcoming construction work and its volume?
  • What volume of building materials and consumables needs to be supplied to the site?
  • Time frames for individual stages of work and their complete completion

Drawing up an estimate for the construction of a fence is especially necessary when carrying out work in difficult conditions: for example, if the object is located in a swampy or heaving area, on a slope or in an area with increased wind load.

Main sections of the estimate

Any estimate for construction and installation work always includes two mandatory sections - calculation of the cost of materials and calculation of the cost of construction work. Since a structure such as a fence consists of several diverse elements, it is reasonable to divide the first part of the estimate into separate subsections.

Calculation and estimate for corrugated sheets

First of all, it is necessary to draw up an estimate for the profiled sheet itself. Despite the fact that there is now a wide selection of grades of corrugated sheeting, C8, C20 and C21 are most often used for fencing. Sheets can be either simple galvanized or polymer-coated (on one or both sides); in the case of such a protective and decorative coating, the cost of the corrugated sheet increases by approximately 40%.

To determine how many sheets of material will be needed for the fence, you need to understand what type of sheet fastening will be used. Profiled sheet is a universal material that can be attached to supports both horizontally and vertically, while the fence can be a continuous surface made of corrugated sheets or individual sheets of it with gaps for posts. So, there are four mounting options in total, and for each of them the number of sheets is calculated differently.

Option 1. In the case of fastening sheets horizontally without gaps, it is necessary to take into account the overlap, the value of which is half the width of the column plus 10-15 mm. Thus, it is recommended to buy a corrugated sheet, the length of which is two overlap sizes greater than the distance between the posts. So, with a distance between the pillars of 2.5 m and an overlap of 40 mm, the optimal sheet length should be 2.58 m. Well, to find out how many sheets of this length are needed, you will need to divide the perimeter of the site by the distance between the pillars.

Option 2. The calculation is even simpler when attaching sheets horizontally with gaps for pillars. In this case, there is no need to take into account the overlap: on the contrary, it is necessary to make the length of the sheet 10-20 mm less than the distance between the pillars in order to take into account their possible unevenness.

Option 3. To calculate the amount of corrugated sheeting for vertical installation as a continuous sheet, you need to know the useful width of the sheet of the selected brand. If, during horizontal installation, the geometric parameters of the sheets were dictated by the pre-selected distance between the columns, then in the case of vertical installation of the sheets, the distance between the columns is determined based on the useful width of the sheets. For example, when installing a fence from C21 corrugated sheet with a useful width of 1000 mm, you decided that between each pair of posts 100 mm wide there would be 3 sheets of corrugated sheeting.

Then the distance between the pillars (one run) will be equal to 1000 * 3-100 = 2900 mm, and the number of pillars is obtained by dividing the perimeter of the site (let it be 60 m) by the distance between the pillars, rounded down. To determine how many sheets of corrugated board will be needed for a fence, you need to subtract the total width of all the posts from the perimeter, divide by the distance between the posts and multiply by the number of sheets in the run.

Option 4. To calculate the amount of corrugated sheeting for a fence with vertical fastening with gaps for posts, you will need to know not only the useful, but also the actual width of the sheet. If, as in the previous example, there are three sheets of corrugated sheets per run, then to calculate the distance between the pillars it is necessary to add the actual width of one of them with the useful width of the remaining ones and add 20 mm. Knowing the distance between the pillars, we can use the formula from the previous paragraph to determine the required number of sheets.

Important! When calculating the corrugated sheeting and the number of supports for the site, do not forget about gates and gates.

What a wicket and fence gate made of corrugated sheets look like, as well as at what stage of the work they are installed by a professional team, watch in this video:

It is reasonable to include in the estimate for the number of corrugated sheets the approximate consumption of fastening elements - self-tapping screws. In most cases, the number of screws per fence can be calculated using a simple formula: 3*L*n, where L is the number of transverse joists, and n is the number of sheets of material.

Calculation and estimate for the foundation

This is the most difficult part of the estimate, for ideal calculation it is necessary to have professional skills and knowledge about the characteristics of the soil at the site, the depth of soil freezing and the prevailing direction and strength of winds typical for the area. Therefore, if you decide to make an estimate yourself, it is better to choose a proven and universal fence foundation design - for example, choose a strip foundation for a fence.

The strip foundation has the shape of a parallelepiped, therefore, in order to calculate the required volume of concrete mixture, it is necessary to multiply the width of the foundation by its depth and by the perimeter of the site. The average foundation depth for a fence made of corrugated sheets, as well as other lightweight materials, is 50 cm.

Important! When drawing up an estimate for the fence, do not forget about transportation costs - for example, you may need the services of a concrete mixer, and the delivery of the profiled sheet itself should also be reflected in the costs.

Calculation and estimate for load-bearing elements

The consumption of posts for corrugated sheeting has already been discussed above, so now we will focus on logs - horizontal crossbars necessary to give the fence greater stability. In the vast majority of cases, thin-walled metal profile pipes with a cross section of 40x20 mm, installed on corrugated sheeting in two rows, are suitable as crossbars.

Estimate for construction work

The second section of the estimate for the construction of a 2 m high fence on a plot of 9 acres may look something like this.

Priming and painting supports

Concreting works: wicket, gates, supports

As in the case of calculating materials, when studying such an estimate, it is important to pay attention to the units of measurement of work, since the price can be indicated per piece, square or linear meter, and in different organizations the system of units of measurement of work may be different.

For more information about the important stages of constructing a fence from corrugated sheets, see the following video:

Any owner of a land plot has to install a fence. Calculating the approximate amount for its installation is a burning question.

Not every price list for fencing installation can provide accurate information about how much the fence will cost. Even such a budget fencing option as corrugated fence in price may differ greatly from the information that was obtained from the documents of hardware stores for a fence of this type.

Therefore, to clarify the cost of fencing made of corrugated sheets, you will have to arm yourself with a pencil and calculate yourself, based on the data on a specific land plot, all the parameters of the work and the amount of materials.

Preliminary independent work

To minimize the cost of constructing a fence, before purchasing corrugated sheets for fences, by price listed in the price lists of construction stores, you should go to the building materials warehouses yourself and discuss the purchase there.

In addition, it would be worth ordering a sketch of the fence from an architect.

Cost of corrugated fence work and its project must take into account a lot of factors that include all stages from the choice of fence design, the type of its foundation to the cost of material for installing the frame.

Drawing up a project is especially important for carrying out work in difficult conditions:

  • on marshy soils,
  • on the slopes,
  • on heaving soils,
  • in areas with strong winds.

The owner, when drawing up project documentation, must indicate the desired height of the fence.

After preliminary approval of the sketch, before such a stage as installation of a corrugated fence in prices market, it is necessary to clarify the type and quantity of metal profiles and other accessories, as well as the grade of sheet.

At this stage, the type of foundation must be selected. Its type depends on the following factors:

  • soil characteristics,
  • relief of the site,
  • possibilities of soil erosion.

After this, a detailed drawing of the fence is created indicating all the above nuances and an estimate is drawn up.

When drawing up estimates, the conditions of the work must be taken into account. The following factors may influence prices:

  • the season in which the work will be carried out,
  • the need to dismantle the fences already standing on the site.

Dismantling of a fence already built on a site can be carried out using special equipment. If the old fence can be disassembled without the involvement of specialists, then it is better to do it yourself.

Budget structure

Work on the construction of fences is carried out on the basis of construction estimates.

Any construction estimate, be it the construction of a residential building or the construction of a fence, consists of two types of documents.

Prices for the services of construction organizations depend on the design features of a particular fence. They entail calculations:

  • scope of work,
  • scope of work.

The cost of services of a construction company should be the basis for deductions:

  • taxes,
  • mandatory payments to the budget.

The second part of the estimate documentation, including the cost of consumables, must be discussed and agreed upon with customers. This is explained by the fact that it is the customer who chooses the type of material and determines:

  • fence height,
  • foundation quality,
  • type of supports,
  • number of lags.

Calculations of both parts of the estimate documentation on a plot of land of 9 acres for the construction of a fence made of corrugated sheets 2 m high on two logs without a foundation can look something like this.

Additional expenses

When constructing any fence, the estimate documentation must include calculations for transportation costs. This item does not include the delivery of a team to the site, but the transportation of material from the construction warehouse to the site of fencing assembly. Savings on this item may include such a nuance as cutting profiles directly in a warehouse or store. It is always easier to cut a profile, according to the drawing, right on the spot, than to order a truck into which an 8 or 10 meter profile will be loaded.

The Elite company will create a fence of any level of complexity.
