How to make topiary from rowan with your own hands. DIY autumn topiary: making an unusual decoration for the home Topiary how to make a tree for rowan

Autumn is not only a time of slow fading of nature, but also a very beautiful time of year. Bright colored leaves are an excellent material for. In order to preserve their beauty at least for a short time, we suggest creating an interesting and very unusual topiary craft from them. Our step-by-step master class will tell you how to make topiary from tree leaves with your own hands.

Maple leaf topiary

Let's prepare everything necessary to create our topiary:

  • maple leaves, artificial or collected from trees;
  • glue gun;
  • small pot - plastic or clay;
  • two polystyrene or foam balls;
  • glitter;
  • branch-trunk;
  • paints.

Let's get creative:

  1. Let's select the number of leaves required for our tree. You can take artificial leaves made of plastic or fabric, or you can collect leaves from under the trees. But since dry leaves are very fragile, they should first be strengthened - dipped in molten paraffin and allowed to dry. The leaves can be covered with a thin layer of glitter on top.
  2. Now let's prepare the base on which the leaves will be attached. To do this, we need a medium-sized ball of polystyrene or foam rubber, which must be strung on a twig.
  3. Place half of the second ball on the same branch from below. This must be done in order to securely secure the topiary in the pot.
  4. We decorate the topiary with leaves using a glue gun. It is more convenient to start gluing the leaves from the bottom up, slightly layering them on top of each other.
  5. Place the topiary in the pot.
  6. We decorate the pot with artificial grass and get this wonderful topiary made from tree leaves, created with our own hands.
  7. DIY topiary from bush leaves

    In order to decorate a garden or personal plot with topiary, we will need a polystyrene or foam ball, a small stick (40-50 cm), moss, a bucket and glue in a can and small leaves.

Master class on making topiary from fresh rowan berries

Natural material- this is the most accessible and interesting material for children's creativity. In the autumn, all children's educational institutions make small and large masterpieces from cones, leaves, acorns, sticks, twigs, bark, flowers, fruits and seeds. Using natural materials, you can make with your own hands a lot of beautiful and interesting toys, crafts, animals or a variety of decorative ornaments.
Making crafts from natural materials not only develops a child’s creative abilities and fine motor skills, but also teaches children to love nature and see the beauty of familiar things.

Nature is beauty, and if a person approaches it creatively, then a miracle is born.

Let's teach children to love nature!

As you already understood, we will make Topiary from mountain ash.
Topiary- this is a small interior tree that serves to decorate the house and symbolizes prosperity and well-being “Tree of Happiness”. Topiary looks like a small composition in the form of a small tree with a geometric crown. Such trees are created using mainly natural materials and serve as a bright detail in decorating any interior.
So let's get started.
Required material:
- Bundle rope (twine), bast washcloth;
- Wooden stick;
- A plastic cup;
- Stationery pins (1 pack);
- Glue, scissors;

Crepe paper (green, orange);
- Styrofoam;
- Rowan berries (fresh);
- Cones, dried flowers and other natural materials for decoration.

Any topiary consists of three parts - base, trunk and crown.
1. Making the base: We cut out the foam base to the size of the plastic cup and insert it into the jar.

As a basis can be used a flower pot of suitable size, small salad bowls, milk jugs, cups, glasses, tin cans, etc. You can use various materials as a base: polystyrene foam, construction foam, floral sponge or paper.
2. Making a topiary trunk: We take wooden sticks and decorate them with a rope, wrapping them in a spiral so that there are no gaps between the turns of the rope. The rope must be secured to both ends of the wooden stick using glue.

Trunk can be done from a variety of decorative twigs that are sold in florist shops, or an ordinary tree branch found on the street, only twigs from the street must be dried very well before use. Wire or kebab sticks may also work; of course, they will need to be decorated with paper, twine or ribbons - any material you like.
3. Let's start assembling the topiary. Crown for our topiary is made from a foam ball.

We insert the trunk into the base exactly in the middle and secure it with glue (Glue gun or Crystal) and attach the crown of the topiary to the top of the trunk. The preparation is ready!
4. Let's proceed directly to the design of the topiary:
We decorate the crown with a piece of orange crepe paper, securing it at the base with a rope. Similarly, we decorate the base of the topiary with green paper. The paper on the jar can be partially secured with double-sided tape or tied with a string.

5. Then take the rowan berries and string them one at a time onto stationery pins. You get “beads” on needles.

6. When a sufficient number of “beads” have been prepared, you can begin to stick needles with berries into the foam crown of the topiary. You need to start exactly from the center (from top to bottom) moving clockwise, trying not to leave any distance between the berries.

7. Using the same “Beads” berries on the needles, we cover the foam at the base of the topiary, pinning the uneven edges of the paper.

Attention!!! Fresh rowan berries will dry out, therefore, decrease in size, and the topiary will lose its pristine beauty. You can make topiary directly from dried rowan berries. He will also be no less attractive.

8. After everything is ready, we proceed to decorating the topiary using dried flowers, pine cones and any other natural material.

The topiary crown can also be decorated with dried flowers, fresh flowers, ribbons, pieces of fabric, pistachios, coffee beans, pine cones and much more.

Instead of rowan berries, you can try to make a Topiary from chokeberry berries and small wild apples.
Manufacturing This topiary is perfect for children, parents, teachers and educators because... it won't take much time or effort to create it. You can always create a topiary according to your plan and for your purposes, whether for a crafts competition or for the interior of your home, and it will also be a wonderful gift for your loved ones.
The most popular shapes for topiary are ball and cone.

A topiary made from wild apples with a cube-shaped crown also looks original and unusual.

You can make not only fun crafts from cones that kids will happily play with. This natural material can become the basis for creating an original topiary.

Step-by-step instructions for making topiary

To make a topiary, you will need the following materials and tools:

  • cones;
  • polystyrene foam, cardboard;
  • glue gun;
  • decorative materials;
  • flower pot;
  • brown paint.

If you have all of the above, you can safely begin creating a masterpiece.

First you need to create a foundation. It is made in the shape of a cone made of foam or cardboard. You need to paint the resulting structure brown.

We form a tree. Starting from the top point of the cone, you need to glue cones of different shapes and sizes with a minimum distance between them. Now you need to carefully place the tree with its base in the flower pot.

From pine or spruce cones you can make topiaries of different shapes and sizes: square, oval, triangular, rectangular, large, small.

Another simple option for creating topiary

We will need:

  • cones, pine twigs, a thick branch for the trunk;
  • newspaper, paper, glue, scissors, masking tape;
  • twine, burlap;
  • decorative stones, gypsum mixture, pot.

After the components have been prepared, you can begin to make a tree from fir cones.

We start by creating a topiary crown by crumpling the paper and forming it into a ball. The resulting blank is covered with masking tape and painted brown.

After the paint has completely dried, it is necessary to make a hole in the ball, the size corresponding to the diameter of the tree trunk. Glue is poured into it and a pre-prepared branch is inserted. To strengthen the structure, it is advisable to wrap the trunk with twine, gluing the top and bottom of this material directly to the branch.

All that remains is to decorate the autumn topiary with pine cones. They are glued starting from the top of the ball. The gaps are filled with coniferous branches. Next, you need to wrap the pot in burlap and place the tree in it. After this, you can further decorate the product with beads, sparkles, flowers, and beads.

Topiary of chestnuts and cones

Topiary of chestnuts and cones is made using standard technology. The only difference is in the decoration of the crown. Here chestnuts are used along with cones, which gives the craft an autumnal mood. Decorating the topiary crown with acorns gives the same effect.

There are several ways to decorate chestnuts.

  1. You can do spot painting. This method is often used to decorate smooth pebbles, but this technique is also very suitable for chestnuts.
  2. You can also decorate chestnuts using silver or gold spray paints.
  3. You can simply paint the chestnut caps.

The main rule when decorating chestnut fruits is to emphasize the natural beauty of the nut, its smooth surface.

Topiary of pine cones and rowan berries

Let's take a step-by-step look at how to make a product from rowan berries and pine cones, ideal for pre-New Year's home decoration. To create such an interior tree you will need:

  • packing of pins;
  • plastic cup;
  • scissors and glue;
  • polystyrene foam and rope;
  • rowan berries, cones;
  • dried flowers, bast bast;
  • crepe paper, wooden stick.

The product is assembled in a standard manner, from 3 parts: trunk, base and crown.

First you need to complete the foundation. A base is cut out of polystyrene foam, its diameter should be equal to the diameter of a plastic cup, and it is inserted into the vessel. In addition to such cups, other containers can be used for topiary made from cones, leaves and rowan berries: pots, salad bowls, tin cans, as well as floral sponges.

New Year's topiary, like any other, cannot do without a trunk. This element is made of wooden sticks wrapped with a rope. On each side of the stick, the rope is fixed with glue. In addition to wooden sticks, you can use tree branches, floral twigs, and wire for the trunk. But in any case, the base will have to be decorated with ribbon, paper, twine.

The master class on assembling the product is quite simple. First, the barrel is inserted into the base in the middle and fixed with glue. A crown is attached to the upper part of the trunk, again with glue.

What to do next? All that remains is to attach the decorative elements. To do this, the crown is first wrapped in orange paper, securing it with a rope at the base. We decorate the container where the topiary is inserted in the same way, only we use green paper. You can secure it with a rope or tape.

Next, rowan berries are taken and strung on pins. This way you will get a lot of berries on needles. Then they should be stuck into the crown of the topiary. You need to move clockwise from the center. There should be no distance between the berries. Important! If you decide to make a tree from fresh berries, be prepared for the fact that they will dry out over time. Therefore, it is recommended to use pre-dried berries. After the rowan is installed, you should continue to decorate the topiary with dried flowers and cones. You can additionally decorate the crown with coffee beans, ribbons, pistachios and pieces of fabric. Instead of regular rowan, you can take chokeberry berries or small apples.

The most popular shapes for creating a tree from berries and cones are a cone or a ball. The product with a cube-shaped crown looks original, but it is somewhat more difficult to make.

I have always admired the ability of people to make such magnificent compositions with their own hands. You can’t buy this in any store, and you can pleasantly surprise your friends. Great ideas to decorate your home for the holidays. I especially liked the topiary made of cones with rowan berries. Looks very original! I'll try to make something similar myself!

The whole family made a similar topiary with their own hands at the dacha. Moreover, they used pine and spruce cones. This type of cones can be used in two variations of their stage - fluffy and closed. This way there is more space for creativity, higher originality of the product, and a clearer meaning of the craft. For those especially interested in the question, I can suggest using one cedar cone as a highlight.

Recently I accidentally saw an article about cones on the Internet and was hooked. That article suggested soaking this natural material in white (bleach) for a while. There was even a photograph. The bumps on it are really white! Beauty is not real! I think these bleached cones will make topiary even more interesting. You can also use both white and regular cones in one product. If only there was imagination, beauty would not take long to arrive! In general, I’ll be going to the forest soon! :)

It’s very beautiful and unusual, but using a glue gun can be a very difficult task for a girl, it’s hard to squeeze out the glue, you need to put in a lot of effort to do it.

Topiary "Autumn tree" Master class with step-by-step photos

DIY topiary made from artificial paper leaves. Master class with step-by-step photos

The master class is intended for middle-aged and older children, educators, teachers, additional education teachers, as well as for those who like to be creative.
Purpose: for decorating the interior of an apartment, a hand-made gift.

Target: Creating a topiary "Autumn tree"
Tasks:
-teach the sequence of making topiary;
-develop creativity and imagination;
-improve skills in working with various materials;
- to cultivate hard work and accuracy.
Autumn is the most wonderful time of the year, when nature gives us a lot of different materials for creating various beautiful crafts. All we have to do is to dream up our imaginations, choose a material and start making crafts. That’s what we will do with you now. My choice fell on making the “Autumn Tree” topiary .Handmade topiary will be a continuation of the autumn theme in any room, be it a group in a kindergarten or your apartment.

Leaf fall

Leaf fall, leaf fall,
Yellow leaves are flying.
Yellow maple, yellow beech,
Yellow circle in the sky of the sun.
Yellow yard, yellow house.
The whole earth is yellow all around.
Yellowness, yellowness,
This means that autumn is not spring.
(V. Nirovich)
To make an autumn tree we will need:

-newspapers;
-sewing threads;
-leg-split;
-PVA glue;
-gypsum;
-glue gun;
-scissors;
-wooden stick;
-paint-gouache;
-flower pot;
-artificial leaves, grass, berries;
-napkins;
-satin ribbon.
Everything is ready and we can start making topiary. The base of the topiary will be a ball, we make it from crumpled newspapers wrapped in sewing threads.

When you decide that the required size of the ball has been achieved, we proceed to gluing the ball with napkins. To do this, tear the napkins into pieces and stick them on the ball, previously greased with PVA glue

We make several layers to give a more even surface to our ball

When the entire ball is covered, give it time to dry, it is better to leave it overnight.
This is how our ball should turn out.

While our ball is drying, we make a trunk, for this we take a stick or a twig, grease it well with PVA glue and wrap it with twine and let it dry.

Now that both the crown and the trunk are ready, we begin assembling our topiary.
Make a cross-shaped cut in the ball

and insert the barrel and secure the cut with a glue gun.

We begin to decorate the crown with autumn leaves. We make small holes in the ball (I did this with a nail, or you can use an awl), apply a drop of glue with a glue gun and insert the leaves.

We glue the leaves as your imagination tells you, I did it like this

Add some berries

Having finished decorating the crown, we proceed to planting our tree in a pot. We will have the simplest flower pot as a pot. We make a solution from building plaster, the consistency of the solution should not be liquid, the solution will take a long time to dry). The solution should be like store-bought sour cream. Fill it solution into the pot, insert the stem into the middle of the pot and wait a little until the solution sets.

Let's start decorating the surface of the pot; to do this, take artificial grass and carefully place it on the plaster surface while it is not yet completely frozen.

Now we move on to decorating the pot itself, we do this using twine.

We tie a beautiful satin bow and our pot takes on a different look.
Let's add a little decor to the grass and our autumn tree is ready.
This is the “Autumn Tree” I came up with.

Autumn is a wonderful time! You always want to take a piece of autumn with its sunny colors with you during the long winter, so that you can carry an atmosphere of warmth and creativity through the cold. The warming rays of the sun pass through the crowns of the trees, foliage of various warm shades rustles underfoot, here and there fruits ripen on the branches... All this gives inspiration to make something with your own hands from natural materials. A great option is maple leaf topiary.

Leaf topiary

Topiary is a decorative tree with a ball-shaped crown. It will be a wonderful interior decoration, a gift or a September gift for school.

The topiary consists of three parts:

  1. The base or shape in which the tree will “grow”, we will use a regular flower pot.
  2. For the trunk, we will select a tree branch of suitable thickness and decorate it with jute rope.
  3. The crown, we will decorate it with roses made from maple leaves.

The future topiary is based on natural materials. Each element is decorated in a certain way so that the final result is a harmonious composition. Depending on the available material, various decorative elements are added to the topiary, adding zest to the composition.

How to make topiary from maple leaves

In order to make topiary from maple leaves with your own hands, we will need:

for topiary:

  • maple foliage of different colors,
  • jute rope,
  • flower pot;

for decoration:

  • cones,
  • dried flowers,
  • cereals,
  • pine bark,
  • mosses or lichens etc.;

tools:

  • scissors,
  • thin threads,
  • hot glue or any quick-drying glue,
  • perhaps a solution of alabaster, polystyrene foam or plasticine to secure the trunk in the pot.

I covered some parts with gold paint.

How to make topiary from maple leaves: step-by-step instructions

Let's start making step-by-step maple roses. Then we will form a topiary crown in the shape of a ball from the roses.

How to make roses from maple leaves for topiary:

1. Fold the maple leaf in half, twist it into a voluminous tube and secure the shape with thread. The middle is ready.

2. Fold the next sheet in half and twist it into the middle. Try to make voluminous flowers, do not twist the leaves too tightly, and tie each leaf with thread so that the resulting flower is strong.

3. We continue working until the desired volume of the flower is achieved. In total, you will need about 17 roses for the topiary.

How to make a topiary crown from maple leaves

4. The next step is preparing the crown. It is necessary to collect a bouquet of roses in the shape of a semicircle, tie the flowers tightly with thread and trim off excess leaf petioles. Gradually add more flowers for fluffiness, gluing them onto hot glue, forming a ball. All excess petioles must be removed.

How to make a topiary trunk from maple leaves:

5. For the trunk, a thin tree branch, decorated with jute rope, was chosen. Secure the trunk well with plasticine in a flower pot. You can secure it in another way, for example by sticking it into a piece of foam. Next, place the flower ball on the trunk, gluing it with glue.

How to decorate topiary from maple leaves:

6. For decoration, take sphagnum moss. Place it tightly in a flower pot, covering the plasticine or other imperfections. You can place other decorative elements on the moss: cones, nuts. Glass beads were chosen in this composition.

Don't forget to decorate the crown by adding, for example, dried flowers. The trunk can be supplemented by entwining it with a vine or gluing an elegant spikelet to it.

By using more imagination and spending more time, you can improve the presented technology. As the materials dry, the topiary will acquire new noble shades of yellow and brown.

By adding various original hand-made compositions to the interior, we create a unique atmosphere of home comfort and warmth.
