In the latest iOS (9.3.1), there are only two options: On departure and After 1 hour.

Situation 4: reject and not call back

There are situations when you are sitting at an important meeting and a large number of calls from one person will greatly interfere.

In such a situation, we can use regular SMS. Clicking on the right Message we get three ready-made templates at once: I'm on my way, I'll call you later, I can't speak now.

Or in the fourth option Other we get into an ordinary SMS dialogue with this person and quickly write the desired text to him.

Several years ago, I bought my first smartphone; which, by the way, was an Android phone. Like most people, I, too, went through a learning curve before I could feel comfortable using the touchscreen and how calls are answered and ended on Android phones. How to end a call using the power button on Android

STEP 1: Go to the Settings section of your phone. You can press the Menu button and then select the option Settings or system settings.

Settings can also be accessed by swiping down from the top edge of the mobile screen.

STEP 3: You will find an option here that will read something like "Power button ends call" or "end a call by pressing the power key"

How to receive calls on Android?

Android is one of the best operating systems in terms of customization. And you can even accept a call with a button on Android after very simple manipulations:

• open the "settings" menu;
• select there "accessibility" - they are indicated by the open five and in the English version are called "accessibility";
• mark the required functions - answer with the "Home" button or reset with the "Power" button.

There may be options - if the android is older than version 4.1 or the phone does not have a physical home button, then it will not be possible to answer in this way. But here, too, a solution has been found! You can install applications that allow you to control the device using physical buttons - volume swing or power on.

For example, for those who want to deal with root, you should first get the rights using SuperSU or 360 Root. Then you can install "QuickClick", which allows you to assign any function to the invented sequence of pressing the volume buttons - from starting the camera to calling the subscriber. Similar functions and “Press It!”, Only with the power key.

For exotic lovers, applications have been created with “shake me” functions, for example, “Shake to Answer”. There are also complex applications where the required applications can be launched with different amplitude and number of shakes. But this option is not very reliable, because completely wrong functions can be turned on.

Can I accept a call with a button on an iPhone?

For iPhone users, the choices are unfortunately very limited. So, setting up a call button for an iPhone will not work. The maximum is to drop the call by double-clicking the screen off button or mute the sound with a single press of the same button.

There are no useful applications on the App Store either. Of course, you can jailbreak your device, and then you can find “shaking” tweaks, such as “mCoolPhone” and even analogues of Root Explorer, which is currently only available on Android, on the alternative market available through the Cydia application. And the "Activator" tweak allows you to assign any value to the "Home" button.

But jailbreak removes the phone from warranty, so those who do not want to risk an expensive device should use a headset:

• one press of the center button answers the call and ends it;
• long pressing of the same button cancels the call;
• in talk mode, one press switches to another call without canceling the first call;
• a two-second press drops the previous call and switches to the second line.

So why suffer a harsh and frosty winter when your smartphone can always be customized as you wish?

It is not always convenient to use your finger to end a call on a smartphone or end a call, for example, when it is cold outside or the screen went out inappropriately, especially when you are heroically trying to master a new technique, and before that you’ve already got used to the good old push-button phone.

A gesture or a button to answer and end a call?

Thanks to new technologies that came to us along with touch screens, even the expression "smartphone finger" has appeared. This is when one finger, usually the index finger, must always be clean and dry in order to be able to work with a smartphone or.

The standard way to answer a call on Android is to lightly horizontally from right to left of the green button in the other direction, as if casually "brushing dust" from the screen. To end a call, swipe from the red button to the opposite edge of the screen. These swipe gestures are set up on every phone.

However, you can slightly change the settings in order to make the answer to the call with a button in Android, as well as using the end call button. This does not require a new application, everything is already in the operating system itself.

Below settings are for Android version 5.0.2. The setting names may differ slightly depending on the phone manufacturer.

If the default settings are not suitable

If you do not like the new settings, you can repeat the steps described above (Figures 1, 2, 3) and return to the gestures for calls. To do this, you need to remove

• either both green checkmarks opposite "Pressing the Home key" and "Pressing the power key",
• or refuse only one of these options at will.

You can also install an application to automate work with calls on your smartphone (or tablet). The paid Tasker application from the official Google Play store will allow you to make the appropriate settings in order to answer calls, for example, by simply shaking the phone. True, it may be needed there, it already depends on the specific smartphone model.

All gadgets break down sooner or later, and smartphones are no exception. In fact, phones can be extremely fragile - sometimes just dropping them is enough to render them useless or badly damaged. But even if the phone has never been dropped, there are still tons of things that can happen to it. One of them is when, at some point, the screen lock button stops functioning, and then you are simply unable to lock or unlock it.

Obviously, things are not so bad with phones that have a physical back button like the vast majority of Android phones. The Home key can also be used to wake up the phone. Phones that can be unlocked by double tapping the screen are fine too. But phones that lack the latter feature and have capacitive or on-screen navigation buttons become as functional as a potato once their lock button stops working. However, there are several things that can be done to remedy the situation.

Step 1: unlock your phone

There are several ways to unlock your phone without relying on its power button. You need to have someone call you - in most cases, this will turn on the screen and give you control over the phone. Once the phone is working, you can proceed to the second step. Alternative option: connect your phone to a charger. This will turn on the screen and allow you to access the device. If your phone has a physical camera button, hold it down. This should launch your camera app, which you can simply close and use other phone functions.

NOTE: If the lock button gets stuck, as if it is constantly being pressed down, shake the phone well, just do not bump it on anything. If you're lucky, the button will move away and work fine. Avoid turning off your phone completely, because then you won't be able to turn it back on without a working power button.

Now that the phone is working, you can replace the screen lock button with one of the dedicated apps.

Step 2: Select an application

There are a number of applications that will allow you to remap the lock function from a faulty button. You can easily find any application that best suits your needs. Here are the most popular and effective ones:

1) Power Button to Volume Button.

This app reassigns the lock button to the volume button. It is compatible with the vast majority of Android phones and does not require root rights. The program is absolutely free, so you can always use it.

2) Gravity Unlock.

This application will also be of great help in case of a malfunction of the screen lock button. It automatically detects your hand position and unlocks your phone if you hold it like you want to use it. The program works fine with most phones, although some models may have problems.

3) Shake Screen On Off.

This application will unlock your phone when you shake it well. The program automatically analyzes the situation, preventing accidental and unwanted unlocking when the phone can be shaken in your bag, for example.

Step 3: find a permanent solution

All of the above, although it will be effective in most cases, is still a temporary solution, not a permanent one. It will be better if you contact a service center if your phone has a faulty screen lock button.
