At the same time, it is important to keep in mind that there was no uniform model of the participation of clerics and laity in the lowest colors of the 20th century.

Cathedrals in Russia convened, starting with the Baptism of Russia in 988. However, almost nothing is known about the cathedrals of the Kiev period of historical science. More detailed information begin to arrive, starting from the period of the Tatar-Mongolian IGA and Moscow Rus.

Elections on the so-called. Local cathedrals that are held in the 20th century have not been done before. At the same time, each of the listed church institutions in turn may also have the right to legal entity. Delegation of part of this right of one institution to another, such as, for example, from the diocese - the parish, from the Patriarchate - Diocese, should be regulated by internal church legislation in accordance with the creed. To secular legislation in the Legal State should respect the creed, on the basis of which the church law is valid and the church institutions are functioning. "
