Thanks to publishing products, libraries help readers to navigate in this information flow:

The books telling about the distinguishing role of a woman in the Orthodox family, about the strength of maternal prayer, about nuns, about the wives of Orthodox priests. In p. Kstinino is a temple, so here we can talk about a fairly sustainable interest in this topic from the parishioners.
  • In the Philippovskaya library - "Project: about faith and love in Orthodox literature." Since the event was attended by not only adults, but also adolescents, books that may be interested in and young people: Voznesenskaya Yu. "My posthumous adventures", Starikova E. An occupation with children "for children presented the book N.V. Demidova "Old Vyatka", then they distributed coloring on this book and offered to illustrate it using their favorite colors. Children showed the cartoon "Vasily Blessed".
  • Very relevant, timely, according to readers' reviews, the event "On the Trugar of the Temple" was held in the Klyuchevian library. In P. Klyuchi there is no temple, but thanks to the active position of rural librarians Ulanova V.M., Gorkovchuk I.A., the population of the village annually travels to the excursions to the Orthodox churches of the region. In the Wednesday of the readers of the Klyuchevsky Library there is a large demand in Orthodox literature. After the event on the book "Temple's behavior", a sequence was created. Books Y. Voznesenskaya "Juliana. Or dangerous games "," Juliana, or a kidnepping game "were taken by their parents for their teenage children. Of great interest were the books of Osipova A.I. "Love, marriage, family: conversation with adults", "Education of a child in Russian traditions." The event was attended by the head of the Klyuchevsky school, which offered to make a schedule of similar video tracking for students for the academic year (2011-2012).
  • In the Political Library-District Museum of the Family held for readers the lesson "The most important holiday of the year - Easter". After the event, readers approached, thanked for books, for the film shown. Head of kindergarten with. The floor who was present at the event invited in September to his team with a similar event. The most awesome was the recognition of one of the readers who never went to church, was not in him, according to his recognition, such a need: "We must go to church!", "You need to take the Bible and read!" (In the village floor there is no temple.)
  • In the Karin library, a meeting with readers dedicated to the topic of the family in Orthodoxy "My Fortress: Family in Orthodox Literature" was held. At the meeting was not only adults, but also young people. A great interest in adults called the books of Sukhinina N. "White Voron", "The Practical Encyclopedia of the Orthodox Christian". Young people interested Book Avdeenko E. "How to get married", Torik A. "Dymon", "Once again about love", the Ascension "Lancelota pilgrimage", and "Cassandra path". In the conversation, the issues of the right choice of the future spouse, the role of a man and a woman in the family (in the past and present), in the raising of children.

Within the framework of the project "To the origins of morality through the Orthodox book", the readers were shown by the winners of the International Orthodox Festival "Meeting": "outpost", "what people are alive", "Crystal Boy", m / f for children "about Basil Blessed", "Smart granddaughter"

Work in this area was carried out not only in the libraries declared in the project. Rural librarians requested to speak in libraries not stated in the project. Thus, in the libraries there were evenings of spiritual music, Orthodoxy, meetings with the priests of the temples of the All Esweight degree.

Total, 1028 people took part in 1028 people in various Orthodox events organized and conducted by the libraries of the district and employees of the Universal Church of the city of Kirovo-Chepetsk. Orthodox films and literature caused great interest among residents of the Kirovo-Chepetsky district. Given the peculiarity of Orthodox literature - the desire to reread, analyze, compare - great joy delivered residents and the fact that Orthodox literature remains in rural libraries. After each speech, people approached, thanked, asked to come again.

From teachers of kindergartens and schools of the district received proposals to leave with such classes in pedagogical teams, on class clocks to students.

Orthodox events for children "School, where teach to be kind" interested in teachers of the city of Kirovo-Chepetsk. So for the Sports Children's Youth School of the Olympic Reserve, for the Gull City Club, events were held, which received a high assessment of teachers and children. The peculiarity of this audience is that many of these children are included in the so-called. "A group of special attention." These are children from large families, from families due to pedagogical neglection, inattention to their upbringing.

The project "To the origins of morality through the Orthodox Book" showed that readers are of interest not only to the artistic Orthodox literature. They are interested in practical information: how to pray, coming, put candles and much more. Now readers of six libraries declared in the project, can find on the shelves of the book "How to pray that?", "How to get ready for confession and communion", "How to get married", "how should pray and behave in the temple", "Children's Catechism . 200 children's questions and non-deleted answers about faith, church and christian life "," 1380 useful tails of their parishioners "," First steps in the Orthodox Church "," The Practical Encyclopedia of the Orthodox Christian ", etc. Many readers admit that they do not attend Churches or do it not as often as they would like because they are not sure about the correctness of their behavior in the temple. Such literature will help many to acquire the necessary knowledge, bring confidence that their behavior in the temple will be true. Among the acquired literature has many books that can use librarians, teachers for various conversations, both with children and parents.

So, for children of younger school age, the wisdom of the Russian fairy tale was held by the wisdom of the Russian Fairy Tale. Having answered the questions of the fabulous quiz, the children painted fragments of various folk fairy tales. A leaf of Watman was prepared for the lesson at which the name of the event was posted. From him diverged in different directions of the rays. Each beam was signed: "kindness", "mutual manner", "love", "beauty", "ridiculed nonsense", "The concern of the elder over the younger", etc. Talking with children, placed painted leaves next to the concrete rays. The result was the conclusion that in a huge number of Russian folk tales there are all the above categories. And all these categories are concentrated in the Russian folk tale.

In rural libraries, in kindergartens and schools passed:

  • Cognitive-creative hour "Easter souvenir", on which children under the leadership of the librarian manufactured Easter baskets (Kstininsky library),
  • "The brightest holiday" (Fateev Library-Museum) - various crafts were presented at the exhibition of children's creative works, children gladly watched a presentation about Easter.

Of great interest was caused by an event dedicated to the 66th anniversary of the Victory clubs in the clubs "Veteran. The event was based on the history of the collections of "Wonders on the Roads of War". The collection of "Miracles on the roads of war" is short stories about the wonderful manifestations of the power of God. At the heart of such stories, there are concrete facts, witnessed witnesses in the handwritten memories of war veterans and their relatives, in oral stories recorded by the compilers of the collection, as well as evidence from other sources. Wonders of God occurred at the fronts and roads of the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945.

"Acquaintance with the facts of this kind," Archimandrite Veniamin (Milov) notes, - has a deep religious-educational value. He saves the reader with faith in general, pours into his soul a whole stream of new saints experiences and sanctifies genuinely the water of verbal gracious energy. "

Readers expressed their views on books and led examples from their lives and cases from the life of other people. We wanted to hold such events and invite choppers on them. Easter holiday in the club "Veteran" passed the exercise "Holiday of Spring and Good"

Project results

The project "To the origins of morality through the Orthodox Book" was successful.

The goal of the project is the Orthodox enlightenment of residents of the Kirovo-Chepetsky district - was achieved.

All tasks set are solved: the problems of the availability of Orthodox literature to the readers of the district, informing the public on the issues of Orthodoxy. A public resonance was created and a large number of readers in the villages of the district were attracted to this project.

The project "To the origins of morality through the Orthodox Book" mobilized the work of the CRH in this direction and allowed the mechanism for the timely response of the resource of the library to changes. (Creation of thematic selections of Orthodox literature, the release of publishing products of Orthodox topics, developing a methodology for conducting activities for children).

Specific results were obtained that allow us to talk about the relevance of the project "To the origins of morality through the Orthodox Book": 7 lecture classes for 258 people were held. In addition, using the equipment acquired within the framework of the project, 8 events of Orthodox theme for children (158 people) were conducted. For libraries, 289 copies were purchased. Books, 33 Orthodox films. Received as a gift from Orthodox missionaries and the Orthodox library "Blagovest" Kirov 47 books and 40 brochures. Kstininskaya library Priest about. John Holy Trinity Church with. Kstinino signed to the Children's Orthodox magazine "Sandek". Close cooperation with the missionaries of the All-University Church of Kirovo-Chepetsk, with the Orthodox Publishing House "Satis", with the library of the Sunday School of the All-West Church, continued cooperation with the staff of the Mesense-Educational Department. Within the framework of the project, consultations were constantly held for rural librarians. Positive responses, exhibitions, seminars, events - All this allows us to conclude about the effectiveness of the project "To the origins of morality through the Orthodox Book", its sustainability and prospects.

The need for such meetings in the population of the district was very high. The project showed increasing interest in Orthodox literature not only among the elderly, but also among people 30-45 years old, adolescents. People share their impressions of books, films with each other, with librarians, because The problems that the Orthodox literature raises are each. This is the upbringing of children, family relationships, mutual understanding issues in society. And to help in finding ways to solve these problems such activities of the video library.

Such a form, as a video tracking, helps to promote the best samples of Orthodox literature to the reader's environment. The show of the Orthodox films, the conversation about Orthodox books significantly increased the bookstart of Orthodox literature. One of the working moments in the implementation of the project, which became unexpected for us - is the activation of interest in such a topic in those settlements where there is no temple (n. Klyuchi, p. Philippovo, s. Paul, D. Chuvashi, D. Markovtsy). The number of wishes of new meetings, requests for Orthodox literature in these settlements were very high. The project "To the origins of morality through the Orthodox Book" showed that the Orthodox reader of the Kirovo-Chepetsky district needs its library fund, and for its functioning, it is necessary to develop a methodology for the work of rural libraries on the Orthodox Enlightenment. And one of the logical links of this was the creation of the model of the Orthodox Foundation in the libraries of the district in the implementation of the next project - the network of "educational departments of Orthodox culture".

Saint Evtichius, Archbishop Constantinople

Saint Evtichius Constantinople, Archbishop

Saint Evtichius, Archbishop Constantinople , Born in the village, wearing the name "Divine", in the Friegian region. His father, Alexander, was a warrior, and his mother, Siney, was the daughter of the priest of the Augustopol church of Isych. Holy Evtichius received initial education and Christian education from his grandfather's grandfather. Once during the children's game, the boy wrote his name with the title of Patriarch and this, as if preproved his future ministry. At the age of 12, he was sent to Constantinople for further education. The young man succeeded in studying the sciences and realized that human wisdom was nothing before the teaching of the Divine Revelation. He decided to devote himself to the night of life. Holy Evtichy retired to one of the Amazhi monasteries and accepted the angel Chin in it. For his strict life, he was put by Archimandrite of all Amazi monasteries, and in 552 he was erected to the patriarchal throne.

When, with the holy blessing king of Justinian (527-565), the convocation of the V Ecumenical Cathedral was preparing, Metropolitan Amazi was ill and sent St. Eutichia instead. In Constantinople, the elderly Patriarch of St. Mine (536-552, the memory of August 25) saw blissful Evtichy and predicted that he would be a Patriarch after him. After the death of St. Patriarch, Myshop, the Apostle Peter appeared in the vision of the emperor Justinian and, pointing his hand to Evuty, said: "Let it be delivered to you by the Bishop."

At the beginning of the patriarchal ministry of St. Eutichia, the V Ecumenical Cathedral (553) was convened, on which the fathers condemned the raised heresses and betrayed them anathema. However, in a few years a new heresy arose in the church, autorecets, that is, the "non-conventors" who taught that the flesh of Christ before the godfather and the resurrection was intense and did not feel suffering.

The Holy Evtichy was boldly tolerating this heresy, but the emperor of Justinian, who bends himself to her, wrapped his anger to the saint. By order of the emperor, the warriors grabbed the saint in the temple, told the patriarchal with him and sent a link to the Amazi Monastery (in 565).

The saint Krotko put out the exile, stayed in the monastery in post and prayer and made many wonders and healings.

So, according to his prayer, his wife's pious husband Androgina, who had previously born only dead babies, were born and reached the mature age two sons. Two deaf-and-dumb years received a speech gift; Two children, heavily pain, recovered. The saint healed the cancer disease on the hand of the artist. Another artist, the saint healed, anointing him with a sore hand with a bare and handling a cross sign on it. The saint healed not only bodily, but also mental illnesses: he expelled the demon from the Union, who did not allow it to the Holy Communion; He expelled the demon from the young man who fled from the monastery (after that, the young man returned to his abode); Healed leper-drunk, who, spoke from leprosy, stopped drinking.

During the attacks of the Persians to Amias and the universal ruin of residents, at the direction of the saint from the monastic residents, gave grain hungry, and the reserves of grain in the abode of his prayers did not attend.

Saint Evtichius received from God the gift of prophecy; So, he pointed out the names of the two emperors and successors of Justinian - Justina (565-578) and Tiberia (578-582).

After the death of St. Patriarch John Scholasty Saint Evtichius in 577, he returned to the department from 12-year expulsion and again became wisely to manage his flock.

We read the Gospel with the Church

April 19th. Great post. We study the sacred evangelical history. About the Cross

Hello, dear brothers and sisters.

So the great post approached the end. This week we remembered the most important events that were the prototype of the upcoming passions of Christ. Ahead of us is expected to memorize the resurrection of Lazarus, the entrance of the Lord in Jerusalem and the passionate of the saddimians.

Every day we read the gospel with you, becoming witnesses of the great benefits of God and listeners of the words of Christ Truth. But once a year, before the great holiday of Easter Christ, we read very terrible words about the betrayal and suffering of our Savior, about his godfather. And today I would like to talk exactly about the cross.

Back in days, when none of the apostles could have thought that someone was able to raise his hand on Jesus Christ, our Lord began to warn his disciples about the upcoming suffering him. In the Gospel of Mark, we read:

8.31. And he began to teach them that the son of human should suffer a lot, to be rejected elders, high priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day to rise.

8.32. And he spoke about it openly. But Peter, withdrawing him, began to prejudice him.

8.33. He, turning around and looking at his disciples, forbade Peter, saying: come away from me, Satan, because you think it's not about the fact that God, but that is human.

8.34. And, susperating the people with their students, told them: who wants to go behind me, reject themselves, and take their cross, and follow me.

(MK. 8, 31-34)

This part of the Gospel of the brand contains the central and important moments of the Christian faith. So, from the conversation with Peter, we learn that for Jesus as a Messiah, like Christ, there is only one way, the path of suffering. And this road for everyone who wants to go behind him. The Lord never tried to bribe people, promising to them an easy way. He promised them the glory of the kingdom of God, but never promised people comfort. Therefore, the Savior suspaying the people with their students, he told them: who wants to go behind me, reject themselves, and take their cross, and follow me (MK. 8, 34).

To declare a person that he should be ready to carry his cross, meant to tell him that he should be ready for what he would look at him as a criminal that he should be ready to die. It is clear that the first Christians understood this expression not as we, but literally: "Carrying the cross" means to be crucified.

The execution of the crucifixion on the cross was the most shameful, most painful and cruel. Such a death was executed in those days of only the most revealed villains: robbers, murderers, rebels and criminal slaves. The torment of the crucified person is impossible to describe. In addition to unbearable pain in all parts of the body and suffering, the crucified experienced terrible thirst and deadly mental longing. Death was so slow that many suffered on crosses for several days.

The Lord does not just offer such a terrible way of following him. The memory of the cross should not just scare, bring the people who accompanied the Lord, but to approve in faith in him, when the same people witnessed the sufferings of Christ.

The cross itself as a kind of shameful and painful death will be transformed honest the blood of the Savior in the symbol of sacrificial love - a visual example of all the evangelical words of the Savior. If in the first century the cross was a symbol of suffering, now it is a symbol of the glory of millions of Christians around the world.

But what does the cross of Christ call us? Only one - love! After all, the cross is love, the all-standing, who is mild, compassionating the love of God to every person. Being outside this love is not to take neither the cross of the Lord nor the Christ Gospel at all. And every Orthodox Christian is designed to embody the Gospel, the sacrificial ministry of the neighbor, in his life.

In the life of the St. Pairing Svyatogorz there is one instructive story. When the old man of paisius carried his prayerful feat on Sinai, there were Greek missionaries with the mission to Bedouins next to him. Once the reverend found out that one of the missionaries gave her clothes to Bedouin for money. This caused the amazement of the saint, and he asked the missionary: "And what did you do what he washed?" - What a young man replied: "What? I read comments on the Holy Scripture, so as not to lose without spiritual use of a minute of time. " Then the Monk Paisius wisely noticed: "Maybe you didn't lose time, only I lost my gospel for sure. You yourself had to wash the pants' bings. Only so the gospel will become your life. If you sit and read the book, while others are erased by your clothes, there will be no spiritual sense. "

Rev. Paisi himself was a model of gospel love for people. Some, in consolation or blessing, he gave the icons to the Blessed Virgin and Crosses, who made himself from the Afonov trees. Looking at this cross-blessing of the St. Paisius of Svyatogorz and recalling the numerous instructions of the Afonovsky elder, you understand how important it is to take Divine Love in your heart, as it is important to respond to the godfather of our Savior and trust God.

Ahead of us awaits passionate to the saddemic, the time when we must give yourself a report: who will we be in the terrible moment of the sufferings of Christ? Celebrating and indifferent seva, which is watching evangelical events with interest, not let them in their heart, or we will be among the faithful followers, along with him carrying their own cross.

Help us in this Lord!

Battle with our death: the word for the entrance of the Lord in Jerusalem

G. The aspid is now included in Jerusalem, in his city, in order to enter into a battle with death. Whose death? With the death of each of us - with yours, with mine, with the death of each of the people. Join the battle and win.

IN Eating death is not a simultaneous event, when a person moves from this life into a certain, completely incomprehensible, condition. It is stopped what is called biological life. Death continues further. This is only the beginning of death, then we are sometimes witnesses with you, the death of our loved ones or any other people. This is only the beginning. And then it continues in a different life. And as far as it is terrible and sad when we see her in humilion here, it is infinite more terrible, when it continues in the spiritual world when death covers not only the body, but also the soul. All thoughts, all that makes up the soul of man: His feelings, aspirations, the experience of the huge, which he has accumulated for his life, all that we do not even suspect, is contained in the human person - everything begins to be exposed to terrible destruction and destruction.

Radio "Vera" is a new radio station that tells about the eternal truths of the Orthodox faith.

TV channel Tsargrad: Orthodoxy

1. About our edition

Orthodox magazine for children "My joy".

The first issue of the magazine was conceived as a gift for Donbass children to the bright holiday of the Resurrection Christ in 2003. The editorial board decided to learn from the young readers themselves, as if they wanted to be called the magazine. Among Sunday schools, a competition for the best name of the children's Orthodox magazine was announced. Of all the variety of names, we allocated the offer of Bogdan Vorobyeva - a greeting of the Rev. Seraphim of Sarovsky - "My joy, Christ Risen!". It seemed to us that words from the appeal of the presented most approached our submission about the journal. The magazine caused genuine interest among readers and our Vladyka Hilarion blessed him to release him monthly. Last year, "my joy" noted his five-year anniversary. At the moment, the light saw 80 exciting and colorful numbers.

2. Why do we do it?

"My joy" is a cognitive and at the same time a shovel magazine. With the help of the magazine, we strive to create a counterweight to consumer worldview and modern trends in the penetration of Western culture. We try to show the youth landmarks to the younger generation, i.e. Landmarks of our culture.

3. For whom we do it

Initially, the magazine was created for the pupils of Sunday schools. To some extent, it limited the magazine: in the information plan - the regional level, in terms of filing the material - the level of knowledge of the students of Sunday schools. Subsequently, it was decided to expand the reader's audience. We tried to create a magazine, which would be interesting to read not only in churchyard children. Opened new categories, found available forms of narrative and feeding material, as well as their design style.

To date, the magazine has a rather extensive refrigerator, allowing to comprehensively develop and meet the spiritual interests of the young reader.

If we talk about the age category, these are children from 10 to 15 years.

3. What do you think the main thing in your work?

"My joy" is an Orthodox edition, and, of course, the main commandments of Orthodoxy are in his concept: faith, love for God, love for neighbor.

In the journal you can select several vectors of communication with a young reader. One of them is aimed at the identity of the reader itself: across the heroes of the magazine raises age (psychological) problems and are offered ways to solve them.

Another vector can be designated as historical. Here the reader learns the world history, and the history of the native land, and the history of Orthodox faith.

The educational vector introduces the reader with Aza Orthodoxy, the Holy Scriptures, with the life of the saints and devotees of faith.

You can also select the leisure vector, which is served through the aesthetics of the poetic and artistic heading "Walking Swell" and "Vernisazhazh", as well as those who loved from the first editions "Our Quiz" and "Master Hundreds".

4. What way to consider our publication strong and why?

Not in the spirit of Orthodoxy praise himself. The strongest side of any media project is his demand: when there is its own permanent audience, which looks, listening, reads, gives feedback, lives with us.

Many letters come to the editor. We are pleased to read them out loud. Someone just writes us about yourself, someone sends their poems and drawings. We admit - these are the most exciting and joyful moments of our work. And we are grateful to everyone who reads and writes to us for their participation and love.

We consider our team to be our inner achievement. The creative team of the editorial board is working on the creation of the magazine: Editorial Board, editors, proofreaders, designer, artist.

It is especially pleasant that its team has been formed constantly writing authors. These are students and graduates of the division of spiritual culture at the Faculty of Additional Professions of the Donetsk National University, correspondents (employees) of the press service of the branch of the Donetsk Metallurgical Complex, on the technical basis of which the magazine is issued.

So, we will make a small excursion in history. Why for the celebration of the "Orthodox Day" was chosen exactly on March 14? Everything is very simple. It was on this day that, in 1564, the first book was printed by Deacon Ivan Fedorov - the litrorship "Apostle". I want to remind you that before the appearance of a printing machine, the books were sweaty folirants. They corresponded by hand using very expensive materials, such as parchment, i.e. Selected skin selected. Such books were real works of art, which combined calligraphy, painting and jewelry. Naturally, manuscript books could afford only the richest people. The appearance of a printing machine has noticeably reduced the process of creating books, and they are now more affordable, massive phenomenon. So, it is believed that the "Apostle" mentioned above came out of circulation in about 2000 copies.

It is safe to say that 1564 became a turning point, since the printed book gave a colossal impulse to the development of modern culture and science in Russia.

The holiday itself, about which we are talking today are very young. He was established by the decision of the Sacred Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church on December 25, 2009. And, like every holiday, he carries the function not only a cultural and educational nature when we meet people, mostly young people, and tell about the Orthodox book, as a certain historical phenomenon, about its meaning for the development of society, the state. Another important function is the coverage of some problems faced with modern education. It can be said that the appearance of the "Day of the Orthodox Book" is the reaction of the Church for the general drop in cultural and, first of all, the spiritual and moral level of man.

According to the WTCIOM for 2014, which we see on the submitted slide, compared with 2009, the number of people who practically do not read books increased from 27 to 36 percent. I want to note that in 1992 there were only 20 percent of such people. 43 percent of respondents stated that they do not like to read at all. In another survey conducted by the Foundation "Public Opinion", you can see a more disturbing trend: it turned out that 58% of Russians cannot name any books that would make a strong impression on them. Why is this happening? I find the answer to this question in the same statistics. For the modern reader, the greatest interest is light, entertaining reading - 37%. Artistic literature is in second place - 29%, on the third - literature in the specialty - 21%. In the last place, unfortunately, religious literature is worth - only 5%. What share does Orthodox literature occupy from these 5 percent - this is an open question, there are no such statistics, however, I do not think that very big.

Based on this data, it is not surprising that today the question of the need for work on the popularization of books with spiritual and moral content is sharply. But one thing is to make a book popular, and another is to awaken the interest of the reader to this topic. The latter is the most difficult, since the modern world with all its nature, wide propaganda imposes us an idea that it is good for a person to fit a certain fashion defined trend. It is enough to remember that an excitement that appears when the next Hollywood film is released. At this moment, especially in the youth environment, you can often hear the question: did you watch? It is surprising that the plot of the film can be retended literally in a couple of minutes. I do not take talk, what is this plot, good or bad, films are different. But we are attracted to a greater degree, and "cool" special effects in the separation from actual content. There are very few people who, after viewing the next picture, will try to find a literary work for which it is removed. Even fewer people are able to comprehend seen and heard. Probably, this happens because by that time, when such a healthy idea can be born in our head, we already begun a new wave of fashion. In addition, we are very lazy, because reflections on morality are hard work, and we want something easy that might raise the mood to us. Unfortunately, all I said about films is true for literature.

However, each of us has an idea of \u200b\u200bincredible, that is, constant, values \u200b\u200bto which the love of their homeland relates, the knowledge of its history and culture. All this is for us signs of education. I think that they will agree with me all those present here if I say that it is better to be educated and cultural person than uneducated and non-cultural. And it's no secret that the development of our state is closely connected with the church. From this fact it is impossible to escape or pretend that it is simply not. And if I love my country, if I want to be useful in the future with my compatriots, if I am not indifferent to the one who will be my children, then I have no right to throw out the huge reservoir of culture, accumulated by the joint efforts of the church and the state, starting From Prince Vladimir, who adopted baptism for more than 1000 years ago, in 988. And in such a situation, a book, like a material knowledge carrier, should be of great interest to us.

The Orthodox Church has always put and puts its main task spiritual and moral development of the personality, and the state, especially from the era of Peter I encourages scientific knowledge. Let's think about how to become educated, but the poor and immoral person? Examples do not need to go far, it suffices to recall those inhuman experiments that were held over the prisoners during the Second World War in Nazi concentration camps. So so that we, or our descendants, have never become those who drove all the human, we need to learn to be people, people with a capital letter. And naturally, that in this teaching it is best to turn to the experience of the Church, which has been more than 2,000 years.

Today, on the shelves of our bookstores, or in Internet libraries, you can meet entire sections called "Orthodox literature". And that only do not belong to it: calendars with indications of the days of the memory of saints, prayers, culinary books, lives, teachings, answers to everyday life questions from Orthodox priests, stories, historical and theological works, etc. However, few people represent that exactly called the Orthodox book and what criterion can you judge her orthonality?

Indeed, according to the generally accepted opinion, the Orthodox book can be called such in which there will be no contradictions with the teachings of the Church and its dogmas. Also in it, most likely, it will be about something that is in one degree or another associated with Orthodox traditions and faith.

But is it possible to find such a book that is simultaneously Orthodox, and does not contain an explicit mention of Orthodoxy? The answer to this question is more interesting, but at the same time complicated, since "does not lie on the surface." It is complicated because there are such problems here as an assessment of the personality of the author and the reader himself. Who are they? Atheists of modern times or past? Liberals, who consider it possible to revise the verbation of the Church in favor of new discoveries of natural science? Maybe sectarians? Or, what is even more scary, people are nearby, those who often mix the Orthodox faith and folk superstitions?

It should be understood that the separation that is present now, on secular and spiritual literature, is actually conditionally, since there is a deepest connection between them. Enough to remember the works of our classics, such asG. R. Dervin, A.S. Pushkin, F. M. Dostoevsky, N. V. Gogol, A. I. Kurin or K. G. Powests, etc. In the works of these writers, the topics of love, humanism, the meaning of life, the place of man in the world, the constant struggle between good and evil and the choice between them are constantly rising. All this is Christian themes that were present earlier in the ancient Russian literature. And the main goal of the latter was just upbringing our ancestors, former pagans and idolaters, through the assimilation of Christian truths, through the introduction to the extensive spiritual heritage of the Byzantine Empire and, of course, through faith in God. The result of this upbringing is a huge country with a richest culture, who managed to keep themselves in very difficult times and came out of them the winner. That's what our Orthodox literature is. However, it should be understood that its heart and primary source is the Gospel and no other works can replace it.

So, if you decide to read serious literature, then what book it is better to take to start? Of course, it is difficult to please the tastes of all at the same time. Moreover, on the Internet, if you ask such a goal, you can find a huge list of works, of which at least one thing is suitable for you. And yet, for a start, I would suggest you to read the book of a modern author, Archimandrite of the Russian Orthodox Church, Father Tikhon (Shevkunova), "Unlock Saints".In the book entered short stories From the life of the author. Many of them are associated withwhere the author started the monastic life. As archimandrite Tikhon himself told: "Almost all the stories that entered the book, I told on sermons. All this is part of our church life. Sermon ... After all, and is built on the understanding of the Holy Scriptures, on the interpretation of church eventsholy Fathers And on examples from life. "

Another work, generallycristian, and in its name should be familiar to all of you, these are the "Narnia Chronicles",cycle from seven children's fantasy books (tales ), written . They are told about the adventures of children in a magical country calledNarnia where animals can talkmagic no one surprises, butgood Fights SO evil . "Chronicles of Narnia" reveal the meaning of a large numberchristian Ideas in accessible for readers.

If you want to get acquainted with modern Orthodox periodic, then your attention should be focused on two wonderful magazines. The first is called "Thomas", which Positions itself as an "Orthodox magazine for doubts." In the title of the magazine - the nameapostle Foma denoting an incredulous listener (due to the initial disbelief of the apostle inresurrection of Jesus Christ ). The main topics: a story about Christianity and his role in cultural and public life. "Thomas" is addressed to all interested readers, regardless of their religion, attitudes towards faith and political views.

Statistics according to VTsIOM for 2014, compared with 2009, the number of people who practically do not read books increased from 27 to 36 percent.

The excitement is artificially caused by excitement, excitement in order to attract attention to something. (Explanatory Variety Veligova)

"Remember that the Fatherland of the Earth with his Church is the opposite of the Fatherland of Heaven, because you love it hotly and be prepared to put my soul for him." (right. John Kronstadsky)

In the fate of the present and the fate of future Orthodox Christianity, the whole idea of \u200b\u200bthe Russian people, in the service of his ministry and thirst for Christ for Christ, was concluded. Thirst for this true, great and not overlap by our people from ancient times, incessant, maybe never - and this is an extremely important fact in the characteristics of our people and our state. (F.M. Dostoevsky)
